Position Overview Provide inpatient gastroenterology coverage along with elective procedures Perform diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures in a hospital setting Manage inpatient consults and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Work alongside APP/NP support staff for coordinated patient care Utilize Epic EMR for efficient clinical documentation Schedule & Coverage Assignment Dates: May 18, 2026 December 31, 2026 Coverage Needed: Approximately 1 week per month Daily Schedule: 7:30 AM 5:00 PM Call Coverage: Yes includes select 24-hour call shifts Typical Day ExampleMorning: Endoscopic procedures (elective and urgent cases)Afternoon: Inpatient rounding and GI consults Potential Weekly Coverage ModelMonday Thursday: Procedures + inpatient consultsFriday Sunday: 24-hour call coverage(Flexibility is available based on provider availability.) Procedures & Clinical Duties The provider will be responsible for performing: Endoscopy Colonoscopy Inpatient GI consults Patient rounding and treatment planning Urgent or emergent GI procedures when needed Average Workload 40 procedures per week (mix of elective and urgent) inpatient consults ️ Clinical Support & Environment Advanced Practice Provider support (Nurse Practitioner) Collaborative hospital-based care model Trauma Level III facility Epic EMR system Minimal oversight of inpatient NP when required Requirements Board Certified / Board Eligible in Gastroenterology Gastroenterology Fellowship Required Active BLS & ACLS Certifications PALS Certification Comfortable performing endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures Orientation 16 hours of orientation provided to ensure familiarity with hospital workflows and systems.
