Position SummaryBuxbaum HCS is seeking an experienced Fractional Controller Consultant to join our growing team of financial professionals. In this role, you will be embedded with client organizations on a part-time or project basis, serving as their de facto Controller and owning the accounting function from the ground up. You will work across multiple client engagements simultaneously, representing Buxbaum HCS with professionalism and delivering best-in-class financial management support. This is an industry-agnostic role our clients span sectors including SaaS, professional services, manufacturing, real estate, healthcare, and more.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and manage the full accounting cycle for client organizations, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll oversightLead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with accuracy and efficiencyPrepare, review, and present financial statements in accordance with GAAPImplement, optimize, or migrate ERP systems including NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platformsDevelop and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and standardized financial proceduresDeliver cash flow management, budgeting support, forecasting, and variance analysisManage and mentor client-side accounting staff, providing guidance and process improvement recommendationsCoordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other third-party stakeholders on behalf of clientsSupport audit readiness, M&A due diligence, and fundraising processes as neededServe as a trusted financial advisor to client leadership teams and boards, communicating results and insights clearly and effectivelyQualifications10+ years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a seated Controller roleBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldProven experience managing the full accounting cycle independently and under tight deadlinesHands-on experience with one or more ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Enterprise, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or equivalent)Strong command of GAAP and financial reporting standardsExperience working across multiple industries or client typesDemonstrated ability to build or improve accounting teams and internal control environmentsExcellent communication skills able to translate complex financial data for non-financial audiencesSelf-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneouslyProven ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment with high attention to detail and accuracy.Salary & BenefitsThe base salary for this position ranges from $170,000 to $200,000 per year, depending on various factors, including education and experience. In addition to competitive pay, Buxbaum offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
