Material Handler /Forklift Driver
York, PASUMMMARY:The primary function of a Material Handler is to safely and accurately transfer incoming materials and existing product from different areas of the facility.FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:Works well with others, fostering a team atmosphere.• Maintains a clean, safe work area at all times.Comply with all GMP requirementsKnowledge of the Material Handling departmentTrained to use applicable classes of Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and must maintain valid certificationSafely and correctly load and unload trailersMust be able to fill out all paperwork (trailer inspection sheets, etc.)Monitor the equipment and the material handling procedures for safety and report any issues to the supervisorBasic knowledge of packaging and how it is used in the facilityAbility to transfer items accurately from different areas of the facilityComprehensive knowledge of radio frequency terminals and be able to transfer product accordingly. This also includes receiving items with respect to the P.O. number and turnaround numberMust be able to operate both stretch wrappers at the facility (automatic and manual)Comprehensive knowledge of transfer sheets, manifests, bill of ladings, tally sheets, skid tags and return authorizationsMust have comprehensive working knowledge of Data Collection Terminals, both at the wrapper and within the warehouseAbility to perform simple mathematical calculationsAbility to read and record written instructionsAbility to work independentlyNotify Supervision of any issuesMust adhere/comply with all Company policies, procedures and practicesAll other duties as assignedACCOUNTABILITY:A Material Handler will be accountable to the Materials Manager for fulfillment of his or her duties. The performance of a Material Handler will be measured to the degree of his or her production levels and quality of work performed in these assigned areas.EXPERIENCE: Forklift and PIT experience required.EDUCATION:High School or equivalent.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch and lift up to 50 lbs. and shared weight up to 100 lbs. Occasional exposure to airborne dust, high humidity and extremes of hot and cold are possible.
