Overview
In this role you will handle sophisticated property insurance matters for high-profile clients within a renowned insurance coverage practice. You will analyze policies, draft opinions, and support dispute resolution in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll work closely with colleagues to develop strategy across coverage disputes and litigation. ResponsibilitiesAnalyze insurance policies and claim materials, draft coverage opinions, and provide strategic recommendations to clientsPrepare correspondence and communications for clients, colleagues, and opposing counselReview and analyze documents in connection with coverage disputes and litigationConduct comprehensive legal research using platforms such as WestlawDraft and respond to written discovery, pleadings, and dispositive motionsConduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings and mediationsAdvocate for clients in dispute resolution proceedings and support case strategy through all phases of litigation
Key requirementsJD from a top-tier law schoolActive Bar Admission in applicable jurisdiction in good standing3+ years of substantive experience in insurance coverage mattersExperience handling property insurance coverage issues, including policy analysis and claims evaluationStrong background in legal research, writing, and drafting with analytical rigorExperience preparing coverage opinions, pleadings, briefs, and discovery materialsAbility to manage time-sensitive and highly confidential matters with professionalism and discretionExcellent organizational and multi-matter prioritization skillsStrong interpersonal skills and collaboration with colleagues and clientsPrior litigation experience, including depositions, hearings, and mediations (preferred)collaborationstrong written and oral communicationorganization and time managementlegal research (Westlaw)policy analysisdrafting coverage opinions, pleadings, and discovery materials
