We think you'll find what you want here because what we do matters - to us, our customers, and most of all, our team members.Location: Louisville, KYSummary:The Senior Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for installing and/or servicing a wide variety of low voltage systems with an emphasis on Fire/Life Safety, Nurse Call, CCTV and Access Control systems. The Senior Fire Alarm Technician provides excellent customer service to all clients, while working effectively and efficiently in a high-paced environment.What You'll Do:Provides timely and efficient support to clients and their representatives.Provides on-site and remote support and troubleshooting on a variety of fire/life safety systems.Performs on-site repairs, when possible, to resolve issues in one trip and owns the ticket through completion if return trips are required.Advises customers on repairs, replacements, upgrade needs and other options.Provides training for clients and end users, and gets customer sign off.Assists installation division with programming and installation when necessary.Performs upgrades and alarm takeovers as needed.Communicates effectively with manager and support staff by submitting all necessary documentation (part numbers, description, photos, etc.) on service tickets.Maintains an accurate inventory of service parts on company provided vehicle.Maintains working knowledge of systems the company installs; adapts to and learns new systems as technology advances.Other Duties:Takes part in on-call rotation for emergency after-hours service.From time to time may be called upon to assist in other divisions including but not limited to: Commercial Access Control, CCTV, Residential/Commercial Service, Residential Security, and Fire & Life Safety.What You'll Need:High School Diploma or EquivalentField experience or equivalent education or certificationValid Driver's LicenseKnowledge of all NFPA codes and standards (fire, elevator, HVAC and electrical) and common materials, multiple manufactured products and installation processesKnowledge of how to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawingsAbility to work with Drill, Ladders and Hand ToolsTelephone skillsTroubleshootingProblem solving skillsMathematical skillsAbility to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing in EnglishMaintains high level of professionalismAbility to manage time effectively and efficientlyAbility to multi-task; Detail OrientedRegular and reliable attendanceMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or EquivalentExperience in Fire Alarm FieldIntermediate PC skills including Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and OutlookPossess a valid driver's licenseEligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorshipExtensive experience in the troubleshooting of Fire/Life Safety systemsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with several of the following brands: Silent Knight, Notifier, Firelite, Gamewell-FCI, E3, or similar brands.NICET Certification a plusPhysical Demands:Ability to operate computer, phone and other office equipment as neededAbility to read, write, speak, hear, see, think, communicate, concentrate, learn, and workAbility to complete site surveys and identify code issues and solutionsAbility to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. repeatedly during work hoursAbility to climb up and down ladders and/or step stools repeatedly during work hoursAbility to sit/stand for long periods of time during work hoursAbility to work in small and confined dark spaces such as crawl spaces, attics, etc.Ability to work in a wide range of temperatures (indoor/outdoor)Ability to travel up to 75% of the time between job sites and customer locationsAbility to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodationWork is conducted indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and within extreme temperature rangesFrom time to time the technician will be required to enter confined areas such as attics or crawl space.What You'll Get:We offer a "Total Rewards" package including:Competitive compensation with incentive eligibilityMedical, dental, and vision coverageHSA/FSA programsCompany paid life and AD&D insuranceCompany paid short- and long-term disabilityVoluntary benefit products401k retirement savings plan after just 60 daysPaid Time Off and HolidaysTuition reimbursementEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) About Us:We are one of the largest security integrators in the country and have proudly been installing innovative security and smart automation solutions in homes and businesses for more than 50 years.
