Together, we make a difference every day.About the RoleThe Ophthalmic Technician works closely with physicians to help care for patients with eye conditions. In this role, you will prepare patients for exams, perform eye testing, assist during procedures, and document information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). You’ll play an important role in helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and cared for during their visit while helping the clinic run smoothly during busy schedules.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering excellent service. No ophthalmology or medical experience is required; we provide training and support to help new team members succeed!What You’ll DoPrepare patients for eye exams and treatments by escorting them to rooms and explaining next stepsTake patient medical histories and perform eye testingAdminister eye drops and other medications under direction by the physicianPerform specialized eye testing such as eye pressure measurements, visual fields, and OCT imagingAccurately document patient information and test results in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)Assist physicians during examinations, laser procedures, and minor surgical proceduresPrepare and sanitize exam rooms, instruments, and equipment before clinic and between patientsEducate patients on follow-up care, medications, and instructions provided by the physicianAnswer phone calls about patient care questions, symptoms, or prescription requestsWhat We’re Looking For High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher preferredAt least one year experience working in a fast-paced environment such as restaurants, retail, hospitality, or healthcare (healthcare experience not required)Willingness and ability to travel regularly to satellite clinic locationsOphthalmology or optometry practice experience is a plus, but not requiredSkills That Help You SucceedProfessional demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to maintain accuracy, consistency, and attention to detailComfort using technology and learning electronic healthcare systems, including EMR/EHRFamiliarity with medical terminology, clinical procedures, diagnostic testing, and infection control (training provided)Strong organizational and prioritization skills to support smooth and efficient clinic flowsAbility to remain calm, professional, and effective in fast-paced or high-pressure environmentsAbility to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a teamCommitment to patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and company policiesOpenness to change and innovation, with the ability to learn, adapt to, and support evolution in a growing organizationReady to Make a Difference?If you enjoy working with people, want to learn new skills, and are interested in growing a career in healthcare, we encourage you to apply.
