Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice.ResponsibilitiesServe as an EMT instructor and teach assigned courses in the College of Continuing and Professional Education's portfolio of the noncredit extension EMT program.QualificationsRequired QualificationsA Bachelor degree and two years of professional experience as a Paramedic ORAn Associate degree and six years of professional experience as a ParamedicA strong "generalist background" and teaching experience in the EMT fieldExperience in developing curriculum, revising curriculum, assessing student learning outcomes and participating in program reviewPreference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching practicesApplicants must have experience in teaching students from diverse ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgroundsInstructor for American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)40 hours of instructional methodology training (i.e. Firefighter 1a and 1b)Employment Requirement and Additional InformationBackground CheckSatisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.Additional InformationThe Instructional Faculty, Extension Non-Credit (job code 2363) has a salary range of $104-$1,406 per session rate. The hourly rate is $16.00-$240.00. Anticipated hiring salary or rate depends on experience and education.Anticipated hiring base range depends on experience and education. Anticipated salary or rate is determined by hiring manager.
