Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice.ResponsibilitiesServe as an EMT instructor and teach assigned courses in the College of Continuing and Professional Education's portfolio of the noncredit extension EMT program.QualificationsRequired QualificationsA Bachelor degree and two years of professional experience as a Paramedic ORAn Associate degree and six years of professional experience as a ParamedicA strong "generalist background" and teaching experience in the EMT fieldExperience in developing curriculum, revising curriculum, assessing student learning outcomes and participating in program reviewPreference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching practicesApplicants must have experience in teaching students from diverse ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgroundsInstructor for American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)40 hours of instructional methodology training (i.e. Firefighter 1a and 1b)Employment Requirement and Additional InformationBackground CheckSatisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.
