As a Materials Coordinator, you will be responsible for making sure that a material plan is developed and executed to support production schedules, maintain certain inventories, and production scheduled are updated to reflect current customer demand. The incumbent will lead other material handlers and fill in as needed for the Material Supervisor.What You Can Expect In This Role (Job Responsibilities)While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:Inventory and Material ManagementPlace purchase orders in the Demand Planning System (SAP) and coordinate shipping and receiving activities.Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counts and monitor material flow through production.Direct Material Handler activities as needed to ensure smooth operations.Production Support and SchedulingMaintain the production schedule to ensure timely workflow.Assist with other duties as assigned to support overall production and logistics efficiency.What We Are Looking For (Required/Ideal Experience, Skills, Education)We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:Required Experience & Skills5-7 years of relative work experienceStrong communication and computer skillsIdeal Experience & SkillsPrevious experience with inventory management practices and proceduresAbility to direct hourly employees in their daily activities and establish prioritiesPrevious experience with SAP or other MRP systemsEducation & CertificationsHigh school diploma or GED required5-7 years of relative experience or a college degree in a related fieldTravel & Working EnvironmentOnsite – manufacturing plant environment, with potential exposure to all types of weather, including excessive heat, excessive cold, and excessive noiseLifting up to 50 pounds; 50+ pounds with assistanceSitting, standing, walking, bending, grasping, pushing, pulling, crawling, climbing, twisting, reaching, working at heights, and using a ladder as requiredAbility to use both hands overheadPerform repetitive motionsHow We Live Our CultureOur culture is at the center of what we do and, more importantly, who we are.
