Finishing Operator

*Finishing Operator – 1st Shift* *Location:* St. Clair, MI *Pay:* $18.00/hour *Schedule:* Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM *Job Type:* Full-Time | On-Site *Position Overview* A well-established precision manufacturing company is seeking a reliable *Finishing Operator* to join its 1st-shift production team. This position performs hands-on finishing operations on precision metal castings to ensure completed components meet established quality and production requirements. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, using hand and power tools, performing physical production work, and maintaining strong attention to part quality. *Key Responsibilities* * Perform finishing operations on metal castings according to work instructions and quality standards. * Remove excess material, rough edges, burrs, and surface imperfections from cast components. * Grind, sand, deburr, clean, and prepare castings as required. * Operate appropriate hand tools, power tools, grinders, and other finishing equipment. * Visually inspect finished parts for defects, surface imperfections, and overall workmanship. * Handle parts appropriately throughout the finishing process to prevent damage. * Follow job travelers, work instructions, specifications, and production requirements. * Maintain consistent quality while meeting established production expectations. * Identify and report defects, damaged parts, equipment issues, or quality concerns. * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. * Follow company safety procedures and wear required PPE. * Assist with other production responsibilities as needed. *Qualifications* * Previous manufacturing, production, metalworking, grinding, deburring, finishing, foundry, or similar industrial experience preferred. * Experience with metal castings is a plus but not required. * Comfortable using hand and power tools in a manufacturing environment. * Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or surface imperfections. * Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. * Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions. * Reliable attendance and ability to work effectively within a production team. * Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks. * High school diploma or GED preferred. *Schedule & Requirements* * *Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM* * *$18.00/hour* * *Closed-toed shoes are required.* * Additional PPE may be required depending on the assigned operation. #UNI13 Pay: From $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week Benefits: * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Vision insurance Application Question(s): * Do you have a Valid Drivers license and reliable transportation? * Can you pass a criminal background check? * Why do you think you would be a good fit for this position?
