Complex Catering Sales Manager

Compensation range for this role is $75K- $80K annuallyWe are pleased to announce a wonderful opportunity for a Complex Catering Sales Manager.Position SummaryThe Complex Catering Sales Manager is responsible for driving catering and event revenue across multiple hotel properties by developing new business, maintaining strong client relationships, and executing successful events from prospecting through completion.This role manages the full sales cycle and serves as a key liaison between clients and hotel operations to ensure seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences. The position plays a critical role in achieving revenue goals and maximizing profitability within the catering and events segment. What will you be doing most days?Revenue Generation & Sales StrategyProactively generate new catering and event business through cold calling, networking, referrals, and market outreach. Maintain and grow relationships with existing corporate and social clients to drive repeat and referral business. Achieve and exceed assigned catering revenue goals through strategic selling and proactive account management. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and demand patterns to adjust sales strategies and pricing. Sales Activity & Pipeline ManagementMaintain a consistent level of sales activity, including weekly calls, site inspections, and outside sales appointments, with proper documentation. Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualifying to closing and event completion. Actively prospect, qualify, negotiate, and close business opportunities to maximize revenue. Track and manage pipeline activity, ensuring timely follow-up and conversion of leads. Client Experience & Event Planning Conduct professional and engaging site inspections, showcasing hotel features, event spaces, and amenities. Develop and deliver persuasive sales presentations tailored to client needs. Collaborate with clients to design customized event experiences, including menu development and event specifications. Prepare contracts, proposals, and all related event documentation with accuracy and attention to detail. Provide prompt, professional communication and follow-up with clients throughout the sales and planning process. Event Execution & Operations AlignmentPartner closely with Food & Beverage, Events, and Operations teams to ensure seamless event execution. Oversee and attend events as needed to ensure client satisfaction and operational excellence. Maintain a strong working knowledge of hotel operations, including Catering, Food & Beverage, Guest Services, and Housekeeping. Financial Management & ReportingDevelop and manage catering sales budgets, forecasts, and revenue projections. Maximize revenue through strategic upselling and enhancement of each event opportunity. Monitor performance against goals and provide regular reporting on sales activity and results. Team Collaboration & LeadershipAct as a collaborative partner with property leadership teams across all hotels. Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, accountability, and hospitality as a role model for the team. Support a “one team” approach across the complex to drive overall success. What are the requirements for this position?Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. 2–5 years of catering sales or hotel sales experience preferred. Proven ability to meet or exceed revenue goals and drive business development. Strong negotiation, sales, and closing skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-property environment. Professional, client-focused demeanor with a strong sense of urgency. Valid driver’s license required. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical Requirements For This PositionYou must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time as the job dictates.Travel RequirementsAbility to travel locally between properties and to client meetings, networking events, and sales calls.
