Operating globally, they are committed to delivering high-quality products through safe, compliant, and efficient processes.Our client is seeking an experienced leader to drive process technical services and lead API development from lab to plant scale.Discover more about our Director, Process Chemistry opportunity; its objectives, duties/responsibilities and the skills, experience and competencies needed to succeed.Your objectives:As the Director, Process Chemistry, you will be measured against the following objectives:Deliver robust and scalable API processes from development through to commercial production, meeting safety, quality, and regulatory standards.Build and lead a high-performing scientific team, ensuring strong technical capability, collaboration, and delivery against project timelines.Drive pipeline progression by aligning cross-functional teams and mitigating technical and operational risks.What you will do:As the Director, Process Chemistry, your duties and responsibilities will include:· Manage and lead a team of scientists responsible for API development and scale-up activities.· Provide technical leadership in process chemistry, guiding teams to resolve complex scientific challenges.· Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements across all activities.· Collaborate with Project Management, Business Development, Production, and Quality to advance the product pipeline.· Support project teams in meeting timelines and resolving technical or operational issues.· Oversee pipeline direction, coordinating research and development (R&D) and production support activities.· Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to ensure successful programme delivery.What you will bring:These are the skills and experience you will need to succeed as the Director, Process Chemistry:· 10+ years of pharmaceutical or related industry experience in a relevant scientific discipline.· 5+ years of leadership experience managing scientific or technical teams.· Proven experience in API development and scale-up within a regulated environment.· Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and ability to interpret and implement standards.· Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.· Bachelor of Science (BSc) in a relevant scientific discipline.· Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Master of Science (MSc) preferred.Got what it takes?To apply for the Director, Process Chemistry, click the ‘Apply’ button below or contact the Executive Search Consultant – [Reece Wiggins] – on +44 (0)203 355 7050.Please Note:· This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s)
