Speech Language Pathologist

We’re looking for compassionate, skilled Speech Language Pathologists who are passionate about helping residents communicate clearly, swallow safely, and stay connected to the people and moments that matter most. In this role, you will partner with residents, families, and the care team to deliver thoughtful, evidence-based therapy that supports function, dignity, and overall well-being. This role reports to the Director of Rehabilitation.Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities availableWhat You’ll DoEvaluate residents’ speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing needsPerform diagnostic testing in areas including fluency, articulation, voice, receptive and expressive language, dysphagia, and cognitive communicationDevelop individualized treatment plans based on clinical judgment, resident goals, physician orders, and best practicesProvide therapeutic interventions that support communication, safe swallowing, and participation in daily lifeMonitor resident progress, document outcomes, and adjust treatment plans as neededRecommend additional consultations or services when appropriateSupport discharge and transition planning, including restorative programs and follow-up resourcesEducate residents, families, and caregivers on home programs, daily living skills, adaptive equipment, and compensatory strategiesSupervise Clinical Fellowship Year Speech Language Pathologists, students, and Rehabilitation Aides in accordance with applicable standards and guidelinesProvide in-service education and training for staff and caregivers as neededComplete documentation accurately, thoroughly, and on timeFollow all safety, infection control, and regulatory requirementsParticipate in fire, safety, and disaster preparedness drillsWhat Success Looks LikeHelp residents improve or maintain communication, swallowing safety, and functional independenceDeliver care that is resident-centered, respectful, and goal-orientedEnsure therapy services are aligned with each resident’s care planHonor resident choices, including refusals of treatment, and document them appropriatelyMaintain a safe environment for residents, families, and team membersQualificationsMaster’s or Doctoral degree in Speech Language Pathology from a program aligned with ASHA standardsCurrent and unrestricted Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing AssociationSuccessful completion of all required qualifying examinationsCurrent and unencumbered Speech Language Pathologist license, registration, or certification as required by state lawCurrent membership with the American Speech-Language-Hearing AssociationWorking knowledge of speech language pathology principles, practices, and documentation standardsCommitment to the ASHA Code of EthicsPhysical RequirementsAdequate vision and hearing to perform essential job dutiesAbility to safely lift, transfer, and assist residents several times per dayAbility to stand and move throughout the facility for extended periodsAbility to push wheelchairs and beds, carry equipment, and reach overhead as neededAbility to perform tasks requiring reasoning, sequencing, judgment, and basic math skills
