Shop Assembly Mechanic (Conveyors)

Job Title: Shop Assembly Mechanic (Conveyors) Location: Lynchburg, VA A general contractor specializing in Industrial Maintenance and Conveyor fabrication and installation is seeking LOCAL experienced Shop Assembly Mechanics (Conveyors) for their shop in Lynchburg, VA. To be considered, you must have a minimum of 2 years of mechanical experience, preferably working with conveyor components in a shop setting. Shop Assembly Mechanic Duties: Bolt-up/install conveyor components and related equipment per shop drawings Measure and modify metal and plastic components by cutting, grinding and/or drilling Locate and drill and tap holes as needed Disassemble conveyor and components into sections for shipping Gather splicing hardware for shipping with specific sections Assemble skids using nail gun and lag bolts Place equipment on skids for shipping Shop Assembly Mechanic Qualifications: Minimum of 2+ years of mechanical install experience preferably with conveyor equipment and components Must be able to accurately read a tape measure Ability to read shop drawings Must be able to work 6/10s consistently with possibility of a 7th day as needed Ability to lift up to 50lbs Ability to be on your feet the majority of day, along with squatting, kneeling, bending, pulling, pushing, etc. Valid driver's license and transportation MUST have PPE and basic hand tools Field Assembly Mechanic Benefits/Compensation: Hourly wage: $18-$22/hr BOE No per diem, LOCALS only Weekly pay schedule Lots of OT PTO/holidays Comprehensive medical coverage via Anthem BCBS Equal Opportunity Employer Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 60 – 70 per week Benefits: Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Schedule: 10 hour shift Day shift Overtime Application Question(s): How much conveyor experience if any?
