Job Purpose The Advanced Engineer, Full Stack Software oversees the complete software development lifecycle for applications, middleware, and databases supporting Hyliion's strategic initiatives. This role requires expertise in all phases from architecture to support, with a strong focus on execution, delivering high-quality implementations in predictable increments while adhering to team processes. Duties and Responsibilities Develop and maintain full-stack applications using Vue.js, Node.js, or similar JavaScript frameworks Design and implement database solutions using PostgreSQL and/or KQL Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex software systems Integrate and manage data APIs with a focus on user security Create scalable architectures for high-performance applications Implement solutions across both front-end and back-end environments Adapt to changing project needs and take on additional responsibilities as required Collaborate and coordinate within the team and with other engineering teams to ensure successful integration, testing, and delivery Participate in Agile development processes Continuously improve code quality, system performance, and development practices Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, needed, or required for the business. Education, Experience and Certifications Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in software development, including: Designing and maintaining complex, mission-critical backend solutions using relational databases and APIs. Creating and supporting Single Page Applications (SPAs) as a Web Applications programmer Minimum 5 years of experience developing technical products in a team environment Skills and Abilities Proficiency in relational database management and API design Strong knowledge of web application development and SPA architectures Strong ability to troubleshoot and identify root causes of production issues within complex systems Experience in creating and performing integration testing Strong knowledge of Node.js and Express.js Working knowledge of Azure Cloud environment and tools Familiarity with Azure IoT and Azure Data Explorer (ADX) preferred Collaborate effectively with team members through clear oral and written communication Experience working within an Agile Project Management Framework Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions Strong follow-through and self-starting nature Ability to contribute to requirements definition and prioritization of new applications, features, and processes Adaptability to evolving technologies and project requirements Ability to work well in a high-paced environment, set and meet appropriate deadlines Role Classification and Working Conditions This is a salaried, exempt-exempt-level position. This position typically works in an office environment; and given the nature of our business is also exposed to operations/warehouses/production environments. Physical/Other Requirements Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
