FCAW (Flux core)High school diploma/GED2 year technical degree or vocational certificate in welding preferred4-5 years of relevant experience and/ or trainingRead and interpret blueprints and having strong mathematic skillsAbility to use and read level, tapes, protractors, and various measurement toolsStrong organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently on assigned tasksButt Weld Qualification (GMAW/FCAW Plate) Test1. The plates are to be 3/4" thick. The 2 plates shall be 4" wide and 8" long.2. The test will be 3G open root test with 1/8" gap min.3. Root is open root and must be flush to 1/8" penetration4. After plates are fit and tacked in an upright position, it may not be moved from this until test is completed.5. Weld the root with.035" E70S-6 gas metal hard wire (DOWNHILL)6. If visually accepted by Welding Supervisor/QA Inspector will allow you to proceed with fill and cap the remaining coupon with.045" E71T1 (UPHILL) on vertical test.7. There is a 1-hour time limit on completing test8. If the final acceptance by Plant Manager passes visual exam by code, then put initials & position on plate away from the weld.9.
