Job Title: ERCOT Process SME Location: Remote Duration: 12 Months US Citizens ONLY Job Description: We are seeking an experienced ERCOT Process Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a strong understanding of large load onboarding processes within the ERCOT market. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the end-to-end lifecycle from customer request through interconnection and energization, along with expertise in feasibility analysis, load forecasting, and capacity assessment. Key Responsibilities: Manage and support large load onboarding processes within the ERCOT market Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle from customer request to interconnection and energization Conduct feasibility analysis, load forecasting, and capacity assessments Navigate ERCOT interconnection procedures, including screening and full interconnection studies Track interconnection queues, timelines, and key milestones Coordinate with Transmission Service Providers and other stakeholders Assess transmission and substation capacity constraints and planning requirements Identify grid limitations, congestion risks, and recommend mitigation strategies Align customer load requirements with utility infrastructure capabilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, regulatory, and construction Support commercial aspects such as construction aid, tariffs, and service agreements Ensure compliance with ERCOT protocols and regulatory standards Monitor process tracking, risk identification, and escalation mechanisms Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience working within the ERCOT market Strong understanding of interconnection processes and grid operations Experience with load forecasting, feasibility studies, and capacity planning Knowledge of transmission systems and substation planning Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards in the energy sector Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
