This role offers a steady pace of nursing and the opportunity to build meaningful connections with patients over time. You care for patients who no longer need acute inpatient care or active rehab services but still benefit from daily nursing support. Many patients stay long enough for you to really know them, their routines, and their goals. It is a solid fit for nurses who value patient relationships, steady workflows, and a supportive environment.What You Will DoProvide nursing care to intermediate (non-skilled) swing bed patientsSupport patients who have completed or no longer qualify for skilled therapyCommunicate clearly and compassionately with patients and their familiesLead and support CNAs and other care partners on the unitCollaborate with acute care nursing staff when questions or needs ariseMaintain a calm, steady approach to patient care in a lower-acuity settingThe PatientsIntermediate (non-skilled) swing bed patientsStable medical needsLonger length of stay than acute careFamiliar routines and consistent care plansNot receiving active rehab servicesNot acute and not long-term care residentsThe DetailsBeds: Up to 10Shifts: 8a to 8p or 8p to 8aWeekends and holidays: Every otherOn-call: NoneWhat We Are Looking ForGraduate of an accredited RN programCurrent Montana RN license or multistate compact licenseBLS requiredACLS, PALS, or NRP preferredAt least 2 years of nursing experience preferredExperience with long-term care, rehab, or swing bed patients is a plusThis role is well suited for nurses who enjoy consistency, meaningful patient interactions, and being part of a close-knit care team.
