Right Price.Title: Field Research AssistantLocation: Windfall, IN, USA, 46076Duration: 2 months contractWeekly Schedule (how many hours/days): M-F Shift: 7:30am - 4pmJob DescriptionMust be able to work outside in the heat and other various weather conditions, walk on uneven field ground, and must be reliable to show up everyday. Able to follow direction, work well with others, and have basic computer skillsAny exposure to common allergens? Insects, Plants, PollenOutdoor work: Heat, mud, dust - hands on workReliable, follows instructions, Safety consciousBasic computer, iPad skillsDay to Day: Spring; Run Carousel, fill seed, sort clams in field order; Plant Sampling (cut leaves & ears and place into bin to take samples); Hand Harvest, Photometry, Inside Work, Take Inventory, Computer work: scanning bar codes, etc..Tasks can change day to day and be fast paced.PPE: we supply all PPE that would be needed except for Steel Toed Boots, which are only required for certain work. They most likely would not need those right away, and we would reimburse a % IF we tell them to go get some or order them. It is good for them to be prepared to be out in the field during all conditions (except Storms), hot, dry, muddy, rainy, etcThe Research Assistant will perform a variety of routine tasks associated with the Windfall, IN multi crop research tasks will include any or all of those described for the Field and Processing Worker, organization of samples during corn/soy harvest and/or, wheat planting.The type of task will be dependent on the stage of the annual research program and will be seasonal in may be performed in an indoor and/or outdoor setting.The Assistant must be able to understand and follow both written and oral instructions. He/She normally receives general instructions on routine tasks and detailed instructions on new tasks. The work will be closely supervised.Responsibilities:As with the Field and Processing Worker, can be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks or a specific task depending on the stage of the seasonal research program. Tasks may include: Field research operations related to planting, thinning, weeding, pollinations and sample harvest.Sample processing operations including preparation of supplies, sorting, scanning, weighing, preparation for shipping and seed packaging.General facility operations including general clean-up, organization of samples and supplies, and other routine tasks as they arise.The Research Assistant may also perform additional tasks as requested by the supervising Field Technician.Why Work With Us?
