Our busy, 3-doctor practice sees a variety of pets providing preventative and urgent care services.Bilingual (Spanish) speakers encouraged to apply!Salary: Starts at $15 per hour, and depends on experience, education, licensure, and certifications.Location: 995 S 5th Ave, Yuma, AZ 85364Schedule: 4/10-hour shifts; Monday - Saturday, 8 am - 6 pm, closed Sundays and major holidays.Who We Are:Desert Veterinary Clinic is a general practice veterinary clinic in Yuma, AZ, run by Dr. Cheryl Haugo. Some of the veterinary services we offer are vaccine and preventative care and a full range of in-house diagnostics, chronic disease management, routine and emergency surgery, digital and dental radiography, dental cleaning and extractions, dietary recommendations, laser therapy, and end-of-life care. Deborah H.Who You Are:1+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary assistant preferredCertification from a Veterinary Assistant program preferred but not requiredKnowledge of industry tools and equipmentPassion for working with cats, dogs, small animals, large animals, exotics, and some wildlifeExperience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of speciesAbility to perform nursing care in a hospital setting or on ranch callsSolid understanding of animal behavior and healthcareUnderstands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skillsSkilled in drawing blood, placing IV catheters, administering medicationsAnesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care preferred but not requiredLaboratory skills including utilization of in-house laboratory machinesDiagnostic experience including assisting with ultrasounds and radiologyWhat Makes Us DifferentYour well-being matters to us.
