You will be responsible for developing, debugging, and supporting software programs used in agricultural research automation. You will collaborate closely with product teams to provide feedback on design specifications. You will create web interfaces, design database schemas, and develop JSON APIs to facilitate system integrations. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of automated machinery utilized in research projects. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Ankeny, IA.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement automation system software using Python, ensuring robust functionality.Design and maintain relational databases and SQL queries to support data management needs.Build and optimize JSON APIs for seamless system communication.Collaborate with product teams to refine system design, offering technical feedback and suggestions.Debug and troubleshoot software issues, analyzing test results for continuous improvement.Support deployment and integration processes within an Agile development framework.Document code, processes, and system specifications clearly for team reference.Advocate for best practices in coding, testing, and version control using Git.Required Skills & Experience5+ years of experience in a programming or software development role.2+ years of proficient experience in Python programming.Strong knowledge of SQL query development and relational database design.Experience developing and maintaining JSON APIs.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work on-site in Ankeny, IA.Desired Skills & ExperienceExperience with Vue.js for front-end development.Knowledge of Socket.IO for real-time communication.Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline tools and workflows.Experience working within an Agile development environment.Git source control experience.Pay: $60.90 – $87.00 /hrKeywords: Python, React, SQL, JSON API, automation, software development, R&D, Agile, Git, AnkenyWe are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States.
