They want better visibility, stronger reporting, and advice from people who actually understand how their business operates. That’s exactly where this role sits.Over the last 12 months, this mid sized CPA firm has been heavily investing in and developing its CAS offering. Not just growing headcount, but building a more sophisticated advisory function around their clients. This is no longer a back office bookkeeping team. The work is broader, more commercial, and far more consultative. You’ll still oversee the core accounting side, but you’ll also be involved in higher level conversations around cash flow, forecasting, process improvement, reporting, and overall business performance. If you enjoy the more complex controller or CFO style side of accounting, but don’t want to lose the pace, variety, and client exposure that comes with public accounting, this team gives you both.Depending on your level, this could suit someone stepping up from Supervisor level, through to experienced Managers. You’ll work closely with a portfolio of clients across different industries, becoming a genuine point of contact rather than just someone producing reports behind the scenes. One day might involve reviewing month end close work and financials. Another might be helping a client improve internal processes, walking them through projections, or acting as an outsourced controller or CFO style advisor. There’s a strong people element too. You’ll help lead engagements, review work, mentor staff, and support the continued growth of the CAS team. The firm has invested heavily into building out CAS properly over the last year. You’re not joining a small bookkeeping function hidden in the corner of the firm. This is becoming a major part of the business, with leadership backing, sophisticated clients, and real room to grow with it.You’ll be a good fit if:You’re a CPA or EAYou have experience within CAS, outsourced accounting, client accounting services, or outsourced controller/CFO work within public accountingYou enjoy working directly with clients and building relationshipsYou’re comfortable managing multiple engagements and prioritiesYou enjoy the advisory and commercial side of accounting, not just compliance workFlexibility is part of the culture. The team collaborates closely, but there’s trust around schedules and how people manage their work.Progression is based on contribution and capability, not just how long you’ve been there. Not ready with a resume?
