Job DescriptionPosition Title: ConciergeFLSA STATUS: Non-exemptREPORTS TO: Manager of Concierge and Admission ServicesSUPERVISES: N/ADEPARTMENT: OMHCCOMPANY: MHS/The Overlook – Charlton CampusPOSITION SUMMARY:Act as Front Desk Concierge for residents and guests according to established policies and procedures, and as directed by supervisor.PRINCIPLE DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The OverlookReceptionist/ Concierge will be responsible for answering incoming calls, greeting visitors, responding to resident's requests, monitoring residents' emergency response system, and performing other support duties as directed.Answer multiline telephone system and direct calls to the appropriate locationGreet visitors in a polite and professional manner and check in guests at the front deskAssist residents with any issues and / or problems and direct them to the appropriate departments for resolutionGive directions and information to guests, visitors, vendors and others as neededAssist with clerical and / or other duties as assigned by supervisorKeep work areas neat and clean throughout the day, and shut down office equipment before leavingMaintain strict confidentiality of all resident information at all timesResponsible for the distribution of all incoming mail into the Skilled Nursing Facility for employees and residentsPossess and deliver excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate at all levelsPossess basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, email and the InternetKnowledge of multiline telephone systems required, familiarity with common office equipment and practices, should have a cheerful personality, a genuine desire to help people, and the ability to work well with others. Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members and other guests, visitors and the general publicOther duties as assigned by the Manager of Concierge and Admission Services. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.High school diploma or equivalent - requiredMust possess excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate at all levelsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:Primary work will be performed in doors in an office-like setting, may be exposed to the elements (heat, cold, rain, snow); walking and standing frequently; occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Possible exposure to unpleasant odors, infection, diseases and Bloodborne pathogens. Interaction with residents and guest who are ill, confused, upset and or emotional during interactions.COMMUNITY OVERVIEW:The Overlook is a non-profit organization operating since 1911 and offering a full continuum of care and services for older adults in MA.
