Job Title: Software Engineer – Guidance Application DevelopmentLocation: oak brook ILDuration: Long TermJob Description:OverviewOur client, CNH, is expanding its Guidance Application team and is seeking multiple Software Engineers to support development of next-generation guidance and automation software. These engineers will help accelerate delivery of new features and functionality within a modern Agile software environment focused on customer-facing guidance applications.Position SummaryThe Software Engineer will contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of next-generation guidance software applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong C++ development experience within a Linux environment and be comfortable working in a collaborative Agile team responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain application-level software using C++ within a Linux environment.Design, implement, and test software features following modern clean architecture principles.Collaborate with software architects, systems engineers, UX teams, and fellow developers to deliver new functionality.Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.Create and execute test cases associated with feature development.Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects.Utilize Git for version control and Jira for work tracking and collaboration.Support both new feature development and ongoing enhancement of existing applications.Required QualificationsStrong experience developing software in C++ (preferably C++14/C++17).Experience working in Linux-based development environments.Understanding of object-oriented design principles and software architecture.Experience with multithreaded application development.Familiarity with Git and Jira.Experience working within Agile software development teams.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented development environment.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Qt and/or QML development.Full-stack application development experience.Agricultural, automotive, transportation, or other embedded/application software industry experience.Experience developing customer-facing applications.Knowledge of software testing methodologies and automated testing techniques.Desired Candidate ProfileProblem solver with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Comfortable working across multiple projects and feature areas.Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.Adaptable and willing to learn new technologies and domains.Self-starter capable of contributing quickly within an established development team.Experience Levels NeededThe team is seeking a mix of:Senior Software EngineersMid-Level Software EngineersJunior Software EngineersCore technical requirements remain consistent across all levels, with differentiation primarily based on years of professional experience and demonstrated technical depth.
