Stock shelves, assist customers with finding products, and maintain store cleanliness. Help keep store organized.
Core responsibilities
Stocking and merchandising: Receive, unload, and unpack deliveries, then stock shelves, coolers, and displays. This includes rotating products to ensure freshness and arranging items attractively to attract customers.
Customer service: Greet shoppers, answer questions about products, and help customers locate items.
Sales and checkout: Operate cash registers, accurately process customer transactions, and bag groceries.
Store maintenance: Keep aisles, shelves, and displays clean and organized. Perform general housekeeping tasks such as sweeping and mopping.
Inventory and quality control: Verify incoming shipments against delivery sheets, report stock issues, and handle damaged or expired products according to company policy.
Skills and qualifications
Customer service skills: Ability to provide friendly, courteous, and prompt service.
Physical stamina: Ability to lift and carry heavy items, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail: Accuracy in handling transactions and checking transactions is essential.
Flexibility: A willingness to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Basic math skills: For handling cash and making correct change.
