The Electrical Engineering Designer, with some supervision from the senior staff, will provide electrical analysis, design and drafting skills for lighting, power and associated control systems, and low voltage systems such as IT and fire alarm for new construction and/or renovation of industrial, commercial, educational, governmental, and healthcare structures in conformance to client requirements and applicable codes.Essential Job FunctionsPossess / demonstrate the engineering knowledge and understanding to design and analyze electrical systems for the installation, interconnection, and control of architectural, electrical and mechanical components.Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specificationsProficiency in Autodesk Products such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and AssembleUsing applicable codes and standards, design lighting and power distribution systems, low voltage systems (e.g. fire alarm systems, telecommunications/data networks, lighting control systems, power monitoring systems, etc.), and sizing of equipmentExperience with clash detection and multidisciplinary coordinationCommunicate and work with all other disciplines to produce coordinated construction documentsFamiliarity with prefabrication workflows and model-based electrical installationsAble to adhere to project quality, budget, and schedule.Prepare feasibility studies and schematic design packages of lighting, power systems, etc.Possess / demonstrate the graphic ability to produce construction documents per company and client standardsConduct field measuring and checking at the project siteMaintain organized project file containing project calculations, schedules, correspondence, appropriate reference materials, etc.With assistance, edit and draft project specificationsReview project submittals (shop drawings) for conformance with contract documents; specify action required for conformanceRespond to RFIsCoordinate with other design professionalsPerform related duties as assignedQualificationsAssociate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Construction Management) required; Bachelor’s degree preferred3-5+ years of experience in electrical engineering fieldConstruction experience preferred
