Lead Carpenter - Residential Remodeling
We're a local remodeler hiring a skilled Lead Carpenter who takes pride in quality work and wants to lead well-run residential projects.In this role, you'll manage day-to-day job site activities, perform hands-on carpentry, and guide projects from start to finish. You'll have ownership of your work, with support and direction from a team that values clear communication and planning.We operate on four core values: excellence, initiative, trustworthiness, and caring for others—and we expect our team to bring those to every job.What you can expect:$32–$37/hour (based on experience)Health & dental benefits availablePTO6 Paid Holidays4% Simple IRA Match available after 6 monthsSteady residential remodeling projectsMonday–Friday schedule (occasional Saturdays)Milwaukee tools providedWork van providedIf you're a dependable, detail-oriented carpenter who wants to lead projects and take pride in the finished product, we'd like to hear from you!Responsibilities:Perform daily hands-on interior & exterior carpentry work, including framing, trim, cabinetry, and installationLead by example on-site, working alongside crew members to complete projectsManage and execute residential remodeling projects from start to finishRead and interpret plans, drawings, and specificationsCoordinate day-to-day job site activities while staying actively involved in the workSupervise and support crew members and trade partners as neededInteract professionally with homeowners throughout the projectMaintain project schedules and help keep work on track through active participationCommunicate regularly with the project manager and office teamEnsure all work meets company quality standards and client expectationsTroubleshoot and solve problems in real time on-siteMaintain a clean, organized, and safe job siteAssist with material planning, pickups, and organization on-siteEnsure all work complies with building codes and safety standardsQualifications:3+ years of residential carpentry or remodeling experienceStrong, rough, and/or finish carpentry skillsAbility to work hands-on while helping lead job site activitiesAbility to read basic plansGood problem-solving skills and attention to detailTeam-oriented with strong communication skillsSome leadership experience or ability to guide others on-siteReliable, punctual, and professionalValid driver's license and reliable transportationAbility to perform physical work and lift up to 50+ lbsBasic understanding of job site safetyAbout Company:Nelson Builders is a family-owned company that has been in business since 2001.
