DutiesThe tasks listed below are representative of the essential performance responsibilities the AssistantPrincipal is expected to perform to a proficient level.* Assist the principal with the planning, organizing, administering, managing, and coordination of alleducation programs of the school* Assists the principal to select, supervise, and evaluate all professional, paraprofessional, clerical,custodial, and other personnel* Assist the principal, with an equity lens, to promote and cultivate a school climate that valuesstudent voice and designs authentic student learning experiences* Follows and implements all laws, procedures, and policies* Assists the principal in implementing all aspects within PBL District Improvement and SchoolImprovement Plan* Assists in the development, revision, and evaluation of the curriculum consistent with the IllinoisState Standards framework* Participates in and maintains an effective and culturally responsive learning environment amongthe entire school community* Assists the principal as an instructional leader for the school and drives teaching and learningdesigned to meet student needs in order to create continuous improvement and equitableacademic and social-emotional outcomes for all studentsAssists the principal to support systems for promoting positive behavior and tiered intervention to meet the academic and social emotional needs of a diverse student body; maintains high expectations and motivation for all students to engage in continuous learning and developmentAssists the principal to initiate, facilitate, design, and implement programs and scheduling to meet student needsInterprets and utilizes data to drive instructionAssists in planning and facilitating staff orientation and has responsibility for assisting the principal in creating professional development programs and the schools Professional Development PlanAssists in evaluation of teacher performance through the PBL Educator Evaluation SystemAssists the principal to develop and oversee procedures for the continual assessment of student achievement, including all aspects of local and state mandated testingLeads the school wide implementation/management of the discipline and attendance initiatives and processesPerforms such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Building PrincipalQualificationsA valid Illinois PEL with General Administrative or Principal endorsementPossess the Qualified-Evaluator for teachers designation or the ability to obtain the designationEvidence of instructional leadership with a strong commitment to academic excellence with highexpectations of students and staffA commitment to educational equity, diversity, and inclusionProven effectiveness in written and oral communicationKnowledge of grade span curriculum and conceptsKnowledge of best practices in administration, program evaluation and staff supervision includingthe Danielson Framework* Ability to develop and contribute to an effective management team* Ability to work well in a professional community with high expectations for its students andschools. Demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive informationDemonstrate effective interpersonal skills to assist in establishing a positive work environmentKnowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding educationExhibit professionalism in appearance and demeanorSuch alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate andnecessary.Salary/BenefitsDistrict pays employee health insurance and TRS. Salary to be negotiated and commensurate with experience. Base salary will be $70,000.
