ABOUT THE POSITION: The Palliative Care Nurse assists with the daily management of patient care by processing phone and fax information from patients, caregivers, physicians, staff and other health care providers. The Palliative Care Nurse provides both clerical and clinical support to the Palliative Care Team. The Palliative Care Nurse plays a crucial role in communicating the value of Palliative Care to those referred. The Palliative Care Nurse may also make emergent visits as necessary, advising and informing the Palliative Care NP regarding client assessment and recommend care measures. In the emergent capacity, the Nurse will provide prompt response to physical and emotional needs of patients and their families in the form of phone call and/or home visits during regular day shift hours; they screen a variety of questions, problems, and crisis situations that may arise.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: LPN required; current Idaho State LPN in good standing; Hospice or home health preferred; current CPR; valid drivers license and evidence of insurance coverage as required by HONI policy required.
