Strategic Capture Manager We are seeking a Strategic Capture Manager to identify and pursue high-growth opportunities across the defense, intelligence, and maritime security sectors. This role bridges the gap between complex technical capabilitieslike AI-driven maritime analytics and underwater sensingand the operational requirements of government customers.Primary ResponsibilitiesLead the business development lifecycle, managing everything from market research and opportunity shaping to RFI/RFP support and contract negotiation.Develop and execute capture strategies for programs involving maritime sensors, real-time data pipelines, and AI-enabled domain awareness systems.Translate operational challenges into technical solutions, working directly with government customers to shape new programs and transition pilots into long-term contracts.Manage a robust opportunity pipeline, navigating complex procurement processes including SBIR efforts and alternative acquisition pathways.Partner with engineering teams to demonstrate core capabilities, ensuring technical systems are aligned with the mission-critical needs of senior leaders.Build and maintain strategic partnerships with industry peers and allied maritime organizations to strengthen market positioning.Required Experience410+ years of experience in Business Development, Capture Management, or operational leadership within the defense or maritime sectors.Demonstrated success leading or supporting captures resulting in multi-million dollar government contracts.Deep familiarity with U.S. defense acquisition processes, including FAR-based contracting.Strong understanding of AI-driven data platforms, SaaS architectures, and maritime systems (AIS, acoustic systems, or unmanned platforms).Ability to engage credibly with both deep-tech engineers and senior government executives.Preferred ExperiencePrior experience in data engineering, analytics platforms, or enterprise digital transformation.Experience working within rapid-growth defense technology firms or "dual-use" startups.Existing relationships across the DoD, DHS, or international allied defense organizations.
