Compliance & Risk Manager – People Data ReviewLocation: Remote (US) — PST/Bay Area preferredPay: $85–105/hr (W2)Duration: 6-month contract with possible extension/conversionSchedule: 40 hrs/week, no OTStart: ASAP/June 2026Overview:Seeking an experienced Compliance & Risk Manager to support the People Risk, Privacy & Compliance team. This role focuses on reviewing privacy, employment, and AI-related risks tied to people data and partnering with legal, HR, and technical teams to ensure compliance across new initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Lead risk assessments involving people data, privacy, employment, and AI complianceReview new products/processes for compliance risks and recommend solutionsPartner with legal, HR, engineering, and compliance teamsSupport and manage high-volume People Data Review workflowsHelp implement “compliance by design” practicesTrack program risks, issues, metrics, and escalationsCommunicate updates clearly to stakeholders and leadershipEnsure projects move quickly while maintaining compliance standardsRequired Skills & Experience:5+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, privacy, or internal auditStrong knowledge of privacy and employment regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)Experience conducting risk assessments in fast-paced environmentsUnderstanding of data processing, systems, and technical infrastructureStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to work independently with minimal guidanceExperience partnering cross-functionally with legal and technical teamsPreferred BackgroundExperience in a tech company environmentPeople data privacy and/or user data privacy expertiseEmployment compliance experienceExperience managing complex, cross-functional programs
