Inventory/Part's Manager
The RoleThe Inventory Manager will be responsible for inventory fill rates, demand vs. supply, forecasting sales trends, accuracy, cycle counts and full counts of both trucks and warehouse.ResponsibilitiesEnsure inventory records are always accurateComplete cycle counts of trucks and warehouse as plannedInventory equipment monthlyManage the truck stocking/bin layout mappingEnsure PO’s match invoices for reconciliationMonitor inventory levels to ensure no stock outs and communicate items at riskPlace purchase orders with suppliers.Track and follow up on backorders and items in shipping limboRemove/monitor items with low or no usage from stockRemove/monitor obsolete items from stockRemove/monitor out of box itemsGenerate sales analytics to measure item usageUnderstand and benchmark inventory turns and days. Maintain an accurate physical inventoryAssist in monthly closing on financials as neededParticipate in assessing the internal controls over the inventory to identify deficiencies and develop corrective action plans for continuous improvementWork with Warehouse Manager to ensure all inventory issues are handled quicklyManage relationships with all vendors for negotiation of price and to ensure excellent service.Responsible for initiating and leading initiatives related to inventoryForecast inventory needs by reviewing stock levels and SKU performance.Coordinate accurate and punctual inventory allocation by locationResearch new product linesUse knowledge of supply house product offering, best price, strengths, and locations to maximize efficiency and save the company moneyOptimize parts request processBuyback program for excess inventory, as neededCompetencies for Success General accounting concept knowledge Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, Access, Word, and PowerPoint Advanced Excel knowledge Self-starter/resourceful - able to independently work, learn & plan with minimal guidance to drive tasks to conclusion Experience with inventory management software Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with store teams, finance team and upper management Ability to use financial metrics to accurately read and diagnose business performance. The ability to use all levers to maximize key performance metric outputs Capable of learning on the fly with a focus on problem-solving A self-motivated leader who is accountable for one’s work Strong attention to detail, especially when dealing with data High degree of financial acumen High degree of action orientation and strong negotiation skills
