Full-time DescriptionThis position requires hands-on gardening responsibilities for sun and shade situations and reports to Sr. Horticulturist.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral garden maintenance - this will include but not be limited to watering, weeding, pruning, planting, pest control, fertilization, pesticide spraying, seasonal plant installations and other horticultural tasksRecognition of plant nutrition deficienciesRecognition of pest infestation and damageServe as horticultural resource for the GardenWork on special projects as assignedRequirementsAssociate's degree in Horticulture, botany or related field or two years of hands-on professional gardening experienceComputer literacyPrevious experience working in a public garden setting is a plusAbility to operate hand and power garden equipmentAble to work well in a team or independent settingMust have or obtain a Georgia Pesticide Applicator’s LicensePhysical RequirementsMust be able to sustain moderate physical exertion with full range of body motion for lifting up to 50 lbs.Ability to work outside in all weather conditionsMental RequirementsExcellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to effectively respond to multiple, changing and often conflicting priorities is essential.
