This role leads high‑impact commercial initiatives while also directly managing the Key Account Management function, ensuring strong customer retention, growth, and alignment with company strategy.This leader will balance external growth focus with internal commercial leadership, bringing a customer‑centric, results‑oriented approach to expanding market presence and deepening relationships with the company’s most critical accounts.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Growth StrategyIdentify and develop new business opportunities, including new customers, markets, and channels for certain of the company’s key organic growth initiativesLead market entry and expansion initiatives, including go‑to‑market strategies and commercial assessmentsTranslate market insights into executable growth plans aligned with company objectivesDevelop and close major, multi-year, complex projects, including emissions and performance upgradesKey Account LeadershipLead and manage all Key Account Managers, setting clear expectations, priorities, and performance standardsEnsure consistent, high‑quality engagement with strategic customers across regionsDrive account growth plans, retention strategies, and customer satisfaction initiativesCoach, develop, and evaluate Key Account Managers to strengthen commercial capability and successionLead negotiations on company-to-company commercial agreementsCustomer & Partner EngagementMaintain senior‑level relationships with critical customers, partners, and industry stakeholdersLead complex negotiations and strategic commercial discussionsAct as a senior commercial escalation point for key accountsCross‑Functional CollaborationCollaborate closely with Sales & Marketing, Operations, Engineering, Finance, HR, and Legal to execute growth strategiesAlign key account strategies with operational capabilities and product/service deliverySupport pricing strategy, commercial optimization, and contract structuring as neededData, Analysis & ReportingTrack and report on business development pipeline, key account performance, and revenue growthPartner with Strategic Marketing team to use data and customer insights to prioritize opportunities and guide strategyProvide regular updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, and opportunitiesLeadership & InfluenceBuild a strong, commercially disciplined team cultureMentor and develop team members across both business development and key account functionsContribute to broader strategic planning and leadership discussionsRequired Skills And ExperienceBachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred10+ years of experience in business development, commercial strategy, key account management, or sales leadershipProven success driving revenue growth and managing strategic customer relationshipsDemonstrated experience leading and developing commercial teamsStrong financial acumen and ability to assess ROI and growth investmentsExperience operating in complex, cross‑functional or PE‑backed environments preferredInternational or multi‑regional experience a plusDesired CharacteristicsStrong customer and commercial orientationStrategic thinker with hands‑on execution capabilityLeadership presence with ability to influence at all levelsExcellent communication and negotiation skillsData‑driven and results‑focusedHigh integrity and accountabilityWhat Success Looks LikeSustained revenue growth from growth initiatives and expanded key accountsStrong retention and growth of strategic customersHigh‑performing, accountable Key Account Management teamClear alignment between business development, sales execution, and operationsCooper Machinery Services is an equal opportunity employer and gives all qualified applicants consideration of employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, any other characteristic protected by law.
