Vice President, IT Business Applications
The Vice President of IT Business Applications is accountable for the strategic leadership, delivery, and operational excellence of Armada’s enterprise application portfolio. This role ensures that business applications, including ERP, WMS, TMS, HCM, Finance, and shared services platforms, deliver measurable business value, enable scalable operations, and align tightly with Armada’s business strategy.The VP acts as a senior business partner to executive and functional leadership, balancing run-the-business stability with transformational change, while leading an enterprise PMO and defining application strategy, roadmap planning, investment prioritization, and organizational capability development.This is a hybrid role requiring at least 3 days per week in our new office located at 2000 Innovation Drive, Wexford, PA 15090Key ResponsibilitiesEnterprise Application Strategy & LeadershipOwn the enterprise application strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with Armada’s short- and long-term business objectivesTranslate corporate and functional strategies into executable application initiatives with clear outcomes and ROIChampion modular, scalable application architectures and modernization approachesBusiness Partnership & Value DeliveryServe as a trusted advisor to business leaders across Operations, Finance, HR, Commercial, and Shared ServicesEnsure strong Business Relationship Management (BRM) practices that shape demand, prioritize initiatives, and manage expectationsDrive outcomes-focused delivery, ensuring initiatives deliver measurable value, not just technical completionPortfolio, Program, and Investment GovernanceProvide executive leadership and direction to application portfolio management in partnership with the PMOEnsure consistent prioritization, funding alignment, and capacity planning across projects, enhancements, and supportOversee business case development, benefits realization, and post-implementation value trackingEnterprise PMO Ownership & Delivery Operating ModelEstablishing the delivery operating model, governance cadence, and decision rights across business and IT initiativesDefine and enforce standards for program/project management (intake, scoping, planning, RAID, stage gates, and closeout), ensuring consistency and auditabilityLead enterprise demand management, partnering with business leaders to shape requests into clear charters, resourcing plans, and value-based prioritiesOwn integrated portfolio reporting (schedule, budget, risks, dependencies, benefits) and deliver executive-ready dashboards and narratives for steering committeesEstablish capacity and resource management practices across PMs, BAs, product/application teams, and vendorsStandardize toolsets and ways of working to improve performanceOperational Excellence & Risk ManagementAccountable for application reliability, performance, security posture, and vendor risk across the portfolioEnsure effective lifecycle management for all applications (projects, enhancements, support, and sunsetting)Act as the senior escalation point for critical application issues and business-impacting incidentsTechnology Enablement & InnovationProactively identify opportunities to improve productivity and business outcomes through:Process automation and optimizationRPA, AI, and emerging Directors and Managers responsible for:Shared Service Applications (ERP, JDE, UKG)Operations (WMS, TMS, IMS)Commercial (Salesforce)Business Analysis / BRM capabilitiesPMOOversight of third-party and managed service partners supporting application delivery and operationsQualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)12+ years of progressive IT leadership experience supporting enterprise business applicationsDemonstrated success leading large-scale application portfolios in complex, operationally intensive environmentsStrong background in ERP and supply chain systems (e.g., WMS, TMS, Finance, HR)Core CompetenciesExecutive-level business and IT leadership credibilityStrong financial acumen and investment governance experienceDeep understanding of the full application lifecycle (strategy, delivery, support, retirement)Proven ability to lead transformation while
