GOVERNMENT INFORMATION SPECIALIST Jobs

Government Information SpecialistHelp Responsible for the development, implementation, and management of agency-wide information governance policies which identify and establish the roles, responsibilities, and processes by which agency personnel manage information as an asset. Interprets and applies laws, regulations, policies, and guidance to provide access to Federal agency records and information, while ensuring protected information is appropriately disclosed. Implements Privacy Act (PA) programs and serves as point of contact responsible for the development, administration and conduct for the assigned area of responsibility PA programs. Manages and administers the Privacy Act programs, serves as liaison to customers, clarifies and resolves issues with responsibility for planning, developing, and communicating the organizations' programs, policies, and activities. Assists the Privacy Officer in serving as the technical expert to DLA on all matters relating to the management and oversight responsibilities for the DLA domestic Privacy Act Program and exercises functional control over these functions within DLA. Handles all Privacy Act requests that may initially be sent to international and/or remote Commodity Business Units (CBU) locations. Coordinates Privacy response process, evaluating the request, directing the search for relevant information, determining the ability for release of information, and preparing a timely, formal response.
