AES has helped over 40 business enterprises, including Fortune 500 companies, engage their customers, empower their employees, and transform their business operations with the power of cloud, data, AI, engineering, and other emerging technologies.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Structural Designer to support the Design & Drafting Group in developing comprehensive packaged equipment designs, system layouts, 3D models, and production-level drawings. The designer will interpret customer requirements, engineering specifications, manufacturing constraints, and design inputs provided by Project Engineers to develop structural, mechanical, electrical, and controls sub-assemblies for packaged equipment systems.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Revit, SolidWorks, pipe routing, weldments, skid design, and package/plant layouts, along with an understanding of applicable engineering and construction codes.ResponsibilitiesInterprets piping and instrument diagrams, site layouts, equipment layouts, piping plan drawings, process flow diagrams, specifications, bills of materials, and GA drawings with respect to packaged equipment system designsBuilds and maintains effective working relationships with other designers and departmentsMaintains drafting production schedule for different types of drawings along with ensuring accuracy of deliverablesCreates 3D models and layouts including mating surfaces, finding correct library parts, performing extrusions, creating assemblies, exploded view diagrams with BOM sProduces layouts and section views with BOM s, callouts, and dimensionsReviews scope documents and specifications for verification of design against the design intent and customer requirementsDemonstrates ability execute designs on basic projectsConducts model reviews per department processes with assistanceSupports the desired culture and work environment of the departmentExecutes the design process per department processesJob SkillsExperience with weldments, pipe routing, and designing skids and piping in RevitExperience in package/plant designs and layouts with broad knowledge of technical applications, maintenance, operation, and clearance constraints of structural, mechanical, controls, and electrical equipment systemsKnowledgeable of codes typically applicable to TAS equipment including NEC, IEC, ASME, AISC, AWS, UMC, OSHA, and building codes etc.A self-starter and highly skilled designer capable of performing all design and modeling tasks required for delivering production level drawings to purchasing and production departments with limited directionMinimum RequirementsExperience designing in Revit (pipe routing, skids, weldments)Experience with Solid Works, Microsoft Office Suites, Google DocsCapable of producing package/plant designs and layouts with basic knowledge of technical applications, maintenance, operation, and clearance constraints of structural, mechanical, controls, and electrical equipment systemsMechanical, structural, electrical, and controls design experience Awareness of codes typically applicable to TAS equipment including NEC, IEC, ASME, AISC, AWS, UMC, OSHA, and building codes etc.Capable of performing most design and Solid Works modelling tasks required for delivering production level drawings to purchasing and production departments under direction or supervision of senior designers and engineers.
