MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILSJob Summary:Provides social work services and interventions across the continuum of care.Education:Position requires a Master's in Social Work from an accredited college or university.Registration/Certification/Licensure:Maryland LCSW, LCSW-C or LMSW. (If LMSW, obtain independent practitioner license within 2 years of hire or transfer date.)If licensed in a state other than Maryland, eligible to apply or be endorsed for licensure in Maryland.Experience:Two (2) years social work or related experience is preferred. Experience with oncology social work is preferred.Other Requirements:Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.Effectively communicates with all patient populations and staff by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice.Effectively advocates for quality patient safety and satisfaction as a daily practice.Demonstrated proficiency of computer skills necessary to effectively complete documentation requirements.Previous experience and demonstrated professionalism in effectively communicating with customers and in promoting a positive service atmosphere.If LMSW, participates in supervision per licensure requirements.Ability to work independently, prioritize concurrent projects, meet deadlines, follow through with deliverables, and produce quality work.
