General Manager

JOB SUMMARY: The General Manager, Thermal Abatement & Metal Processing Solutions is responsible for the full financial results including direct ownership for orders, revenue, cash, working capital and operating income (full P&L) for the Thermal Abatement business globally. The General Manager (GM) will ensure the successful development and execution of a Strategic Plan on an annual basis, showing credible, clear growth, revenue and profitability projections. The GM will take the current business from current state and grow it according to Annual Operating Plan (AOP) guidelines through organic growth initiatives, regional expansion and new product introduction. Lead growth initiatives that maintain or achieve a leading position in each vertical and geographical markets with an appropriate product, pricing and channel strategy. The General Manager, will partner with the senior leadership team in selling world class products and services. They will drive development of new customers and channel partners, manage existing relationships while developing new markets and applications to further establish a presence globally. The GM will develop new strategic partnerships and ensure that overall revenue and profit goals are achieved, and shareholder value is delivered. Plan, develop, organize, and implement strategies for generating new business opportunities and/or sustainable profitable revenues for the company. Collaborate as needed with other functional areas of our business or external partners to develop and present proposals that meet customer specifications and create value differentiation from competitors. Implement Annual Operating Plans, and monitor performance on an ongoing basis, in accordance with the Business Strategy to maximize the operating efficiency of the business and achieve / exceed the expected revenue, cash, operating income, working capital and other financial objectives. Drive the growth and business development strategy/execution to identify emerging business opportunities, aggressively penetrating undeveloped markets and gaining market share in existing markets. Monitor and evaluate the external competitive business environments across the pole to identify industry and market trends, developing a vision and marketing roadmap for each regional market, to achieve strategic sales growth and profitability targets. Oversee the development and execution of sales strategies and customer management for the organization. Drive the business M&A acquisition and joint venture strategy, identifying potential targets, in order that informed investment and expansion decisions can be taken by the organization. Ensure the identification, development, leadership and implementation of business transformation initiatives that are required to support revenue growth, profitability and customer excellence targets that will are essential for the achievement of the company’s strategic direction and vision. Ensure the organization attracts, retains and develops a high level of talent with the right skills, experience, knowledge and performance levels, in the right places, in order that the organization is capable of achieving its strategic sales, growth, profit and customer satisfaction objectives. Serve as a primary spokesperson for the business and represent the company in industry meetings and conferences. Manage forecasting, planning, and achievement of budget targets. Review performance data and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives. Develop performance measurements and ensure these metrics are achieved. Evaluate Team Member performance and manage Leadership, relationships, performance and results. Other job duties as required. Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent. MBA, or other advanced degrees preferred. Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience winning and delivering engineering and equipment solutions into Industrial Markets, Electro-Mechanical devices, or Abatement Equipment Demonstrated track record of transforming and/or scaling businesses. Strong project/program management background with experience in managing multiple, complex projects with changing priorities. Experience in attracting and building stellar teams contributing to the bench strength in the organization. Combination of technical and commercial experience. · Proven track record of success in a global industrial organization. Demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and executing strategic business plans.
