Facilities Manager - Independence Academy

It is not to be constructed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities or requirements.Oversees facilities (including maintenance and custodial and repair work)Maintains accurate records for room use and class loadsMeets with corporate office to ensure that facilities information is up to date and repairs are being made as neededReview all contractual agreements and warranties to ensure appropriate operation of all machineryCoordinates building repair and maintenance activitiesExamines building on a regular basis for needed repairs and maintenanceMeet with cleaning company to ensure that all contractual obligations and expectations are being metEnsures copier equipment is in working order and paper supply is sufficient at all timesMeets with corporate office to ensure that facilities information is up to date and repairs are being made as neededSchedule required maintenance meetings as necessaryProcess audio/visual needs and distribute materials as neededMaintain phones and radiosArrange for locker cleanup and maintenance/repair at end of yearArranges for transportation for school tripsSchedule required fire drills with fire departmentAssist in development and administrating practices dealing with campus control and securityMaintenance of HVAC systemMaintain Key inventoryMaintain Alarm SystemConfirm fire evacuation routes throughout entire facilityReview Master Calendar on a regular basis to accommodate facility and custodial needs for scheduled eventsCoordinate with cleaning crew and/or custodian to ensure facility cleanup after all school eventsMaintain timeline for summer regarding school openingResponsible for overseeing the daily opening and closing of school facilitiesDetermine obsolescence of equip after conferring with corporate officeDetermines maintenance priorities and sequence of workDevelops a program of preventive maintenanceDevelops emergency repair systemsDevises programs aimed at reducing vandalism, theft and arsonDevise system of safeguarding school owned propertyMaintains system for locking, checking and safe-guarding facilityMaintains routine security procedures.Inspects buildings and groundsProvides for annual fire and tornado drills and keeps log of same.Provides for raising and lowering national flagSupervises custodial servicesWorks cooperatively with local police on security mattersAssists in coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria and other support servicesPHYSICAL DEMANDS:• Medium work: ability to lift, push and/or pull objects, which may approximate 50 lbs.• Ability to stand for up to six (6) continuous hours.• Ability to stand, stoop, reach and bend; mobility of arms to reach, dexterity of hands to grasp and manipulate large and small objects.• Ability to smell, taste and feel, in order to determine quality of food products.• Work with caustic and non-caustic chemicals.• Ability to work with frequent interruption and to supervise a variety of tasks.WORK ENVIRONMENT:• The employee may be required to work around loud noise.• Ability to work in an inside environment.• Ability to work in a hot environment.
