We are growing rapidly and looking for high performers at every level to grow with us.Position SummaryThe Camp Counselor engages and supervises groups of children ages 5-12 in a variety of sports activities and ensures that they have a positive, enjoyable, and safe experience in group activities. Responsible for carrying out lesson plans designed by the Camp Director / FEC Manager in a variety of sports, including basketball, flag football, soccer and volleyball. Responsible for maintaining effective discipline and safety procedures during all camp activities.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:Supervise and coach group of up to 15 campers each dayMaintain updated rosters and camper forms while on dutyOrganize, instruct, and supervise children while they engage in group and individual sports activitiesInteract with parents via phone and email in a professional and polite mannerUtilize appropriate behavior management techniquesPerform all responsibilities in a manner that guarantees the safety of campersAssist with early morning drop-off and/or late pick-up for campAssist other counselors/coaches with all camp activitiesSet-up, tear-down, and clean up each areaPerform other related duties as directed and/or requiredMinimum QualificationsExperience in a day camp or sports camp setting working with childrenCollegiate or high school athletic experience preferredCollege degree preferred; or currently in school, working towards a degreeVaried experience with recreational and athletic activities; knowledge of basic sports skills and instruction and knowledge of sports rules and regulationsAbility to work with and communicate well with children ages 5-12 years and their parents as well as other staff Ability to lead and involve campers in various sports activities Ability to provide first aid, risk management, and emotional support and assistance to children ages 5-12 Ability to coordinate the use of facilities and activities for a large group of children Ability to maintain effective relationships with employees Ability to communicate effectively with children, adults, and other staffLicenses and Certifications: CPR and first aid certifications encouragedWorking Conditions And Physical DemandsMust be able to lift 40 pounds waist highMay be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop or bendMust be able to walk to identify problems or hazards as well as work with children during recreational activitiesSalary: $15 - $15 per hourJob Posted by ApplicantPro
