Enterprise Technical Architect

A client in Phoenix is seeking a senior-level Technical Enterprise Architect to temporarily backfill a senior technical leadership role overseeing enterprise applications that support customer care and billing.This is a high-impact, oversight-focused position - not hands-on development. The Technical Architect will provide strategic guidance on application upgrades, lead vendor-heavy environments, and guide internal teams while partnering closely with executive stakeholders.Key Responsibilities• Provide technical and architectural oversight for enterprise applications supporting water customer care and billing• Guide application upgrades and lifecycle strategy (oversight and direction - not hands-on execution)• Lead a team of approximately 10 direct and indirect staff, plus multiple vendors• Serve as the technical authority for upgrade decisions, architecture direction, and vendor strategy• Manage and influence vendor-heavy environments, including scope, delivery, and performance• Review solution designs and upgrade approaches to ensure stability, scalability, and compliance• Partner with executives and stakeholders with professionalism, confidence, and composure• Maintain governance, documentation, and visibility into application health and risk• Balance multiple priorities and responsibilities in a highly visible roleWe are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
