Cloud Network Engineer II

Overview In this role you will design and operate secure, enterprise-scale cloud networking for Microsoft’s ART platform, supporting mission-critical services across global datacenters. You will work with cross-functional teams to build trusted network infrastructure, implement secure connectivity, and automate deployments. You’ll tackle complex security and reliability challenges in hybrid cloud environments, shaping how Microsoft protects its digital ecosystem. This position offers growth in secure cloud networking and zero-trust initiatives within a world-class security team. ResponsibilitiesLead design, review, and implementation of secure network architectures and security controlsEnhance telemetry, monitoring, and analytics for rapid incident troubleshootingAutomate network deployment, validation, and operational processes to reduce human errorDefine and implement secure connectivity between Azure Secure Datacenters for resilient hybrid servicesDesign, deploy, and support enterprise-scale network and storage infrastructure for private cloud solutionsAnalyze operational data to identify gaps and validate new methods, contributing to documentationCollaborate with internal teams and external vendors to maintain secure, scalable networking solutionsMentor teammates and share knowledge across engineering, security, storage, and service teams Key requirementsMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1+ year of experience in network design, development, and automation; or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 2+ years of experience in network design, development, and automation; or Equivalent practical experienceProficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and AnsibleStrong IP networking fundamentals and protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, TCP/IP, UDP, IPsec, MACsec, HTTP, HTTPS)Troubleshooting across OSI model; Layer 2/3 switching and routing; Layer 7 firewallsExperience with application load balancing (F5 BIG-IP LTM, Azure Load Balancer)Programming/scripting能力 (PowerShell, Python, Perl, C#, YAML/Ansible)Experience with large-scale datacenter infrastructure, NAS/SAN environmentsAbility to lead projects from planning to handoff with minimal supervisionStrong collaboration, mentoring, and cross-team communication skillsExcellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skillscollaborationmentoringcommunicationInfrastructure as Code (Ansible)IP networking & routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)Network security controls and OSI troubleshooting
