The candidate will play a key strategic leadership role in the Texas Southwest District as we continue to strengthen and expand our Transportation practice. WSP is playing a critical role in the growth and development of West and Central Texas, specifically with key public agencies, Texas Department of Transportation, Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, Capital Metro, Austin Transit Partnership, Austin Bergstrom International Airport, City of Austin, Travis County, Williamson County, and others. This role also serves as a leader in leveraging cross collaboration with Property and Buildings, Energy, Water, Federal, Advisory Services, and PMCM to bring value to our clientsYour ImpactOperational ExcellenceOptimizes the client and employee experience through regular review and implements process improvementsFocuses on innovation and enhancing health & safety, quality and sustainable standardsDevelops local growth, forecast and business development strategy in collaboration with District, Region and National Business Line LeadersResolves conflict and other internal/external issues that may arise in the office, amongst WSP's client base, or on projectsCollaborate with regional, district leaders and other area leaders to strategically drive the business, manage project performance, oversee overhead expenditures, and meet operational financial metricsPeople & CultureWorks with the Business Line leader to attract the best industry talent by fostering a work environment that is collaborative, values inclusion and diversity and invites broad, creative thinking - crafting a more attractive place to work, grow and thriveEmphasizes employee training and development to create a unique work experienceInspires, motivates and promotes the best of WSP to our clients and communities to ensure strong employee engagement and moraleSupports programs such as Safety, Sustainability and Ethics & ComplianceClientsBrings an expanded view and integrated response to complex challenges by leveraging our full suite of offerings across all end marketsUtilizes our extended reach across regions, districts, offices and the globe to foster new and innovative client deliveryDeploys our unique expertise and perspective to create new value for clients and provides civic and industry leadership within the local areaDrives performance of the business and strategically grows our market share to ensure WSP is a preferred provider to our clientsManages local client coordination and cross-selling efforts in coordination with Region, District, National Business Lines, and Pursuit ManagementExpertiseLeverages our broad technical experience to enhance current and new service offeringsFosters the development of new and emerging innovations to remain the trusted thought leaders in our industryAdvances the strategic direction of the district and region in the location of responsibility for sustained and continued growth consistent within the context of the strategic planEncourages, supports and promotes the technical and professional development of local WSP staffKey performance indicators include: EBITDA, Organic Growth, DSO, Utilization, Backlog, Inclusion & Diversity and Guiding PrinciplesWho You AreRequired QualificationsMinimum of 15 years of experience in transportation engineering or equivalent experience in the A/E/C industry with a strong focus in transportationBachelor's Degree in civil engineering or related disciplineProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of TexasExperience in the design and project management of transportation infrastructure projects (highways, collectors, arterials, local roads, bike and pedestrian shared use paths, etc.)Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability, persistent and goal orientedEffective communication with team members and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are metProven experience in professional communication, including presentations, written reports, and group facilitationAbility to innovate and re-think the conventional approach to client and employee engagementStrong business acumen with an aptitude for improving processesSound decision-making, strategic and visionary thinking, and creative business development capabilities across a multi-disciplined practiceStrongly established relevant client relationships and industry contacts in the local areaCommitment to internal and external client serviceExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and proceduresProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
