Group Fitness InstructorSea Colony Recreational is seeking a Group Fitness Instructor! Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service.General Purpose: Develops and assists members with aerobic and strength training programs. Assists in the safe instruction of exercise equipment.Essential Duties:Guide members through initial and progressive training in the areas of flexibility, aerobic conditioning and strength trainingInstruct fitness and aerobic classes each weekTeach proper stretching, strengthening and aerobic exerciseEnsure proper, up-to-date and safe procedures are used in the teaching of all classesParticipate in continuing education seminars and workshopsInspect exercise equipment and areas for cleanliness and safety; perform light custodial duties such as wiping down equipment and monitoring cleanliness in pool area, spa, fitness center, and locker roomsChoreograph exercise sequences and aerobic routines for aerobic dance and exercise classes; classes may be either indoor controlled exercise settings or indoor/outdoor aquatic settingsMonitor classes in progress, providing constructive assistanceEnforce all rules and regulations in a polite and professional mannerRepresent the community association's fitness center at meetings, seminars, and events with the fitness director, or in the absence of the fitness directorAssist the fitness director with special events, tournaments, recognition programs, and any outdoor sports related activitiesIncorporate safe work practices in job performanceRegular and reliable attendancePerform other duties as requiredEducation/Experience: Associate's degree (AA) in Physical Education or related field; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Physical Demands: Frequently uses hands; reaches with hands and arms; talks, hears, stands and walks, climbs or balances; stoops and kneels. Occasionally sits, crouches, or crawls; tastes or smells. Occasionally lifts up to 45 pounds.Environment/Noise: Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.Certificates/Licenses: National Certificate for Aerobic Instruction.
