Transportation Design Engineer

You'll work in a team-based, collaborative, and diligent environment. You will apply your highway and roadway design expertise to solve complex problems; take a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions; and use your technical knowledge to develop unique, high quality designs. The ideal candidate will also have experience in storm drainage analysis and design. This position will also involve preparation of technical reports and memoranda, and preparation of construction plans, estimates, and specifications (PS&E).Responsibilities could include but are not limited to:Perform roadway and highway design using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil 3DSupport the development of roadway plans, drainage plans and design-related calculationsCoordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, and clientsReview construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates to ensure accuracy and qualityAssist in guiding interns and junior engineers, contributing to technical problem-solving and team growthIdentify design challenges and develop innovative, practical solutionsParticipate in project meetings, design reviews, and coordination activities across all project phasesWe value collaboration and believe that in-person interactions are crucial for both our culture and client delivery. We empower employees with our hybrid working policy, allowing them to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations, enabling them to deliver their best work.#NWTRANSPO#LI-JM5Here's what you'll needBachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a U.S. ABET accredited institution or equivalent.Professional Engineering registration in Idaho or the ability to obtain within six months if licensed in another state.4-8+ years of experience in transportation roadway and highway designStrong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.Experience using CADD/Design software (Microstation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD/Civil 3D)Ideally, You'll Also Have:* Experience designing roadway storm sewer systems.* Experience with ACHD, ITD, LTHAC, FHWA or other municipalities and agencies throughout Idaho and the Pacific NW.Posted Salary Range: Minimum102,900.00Posted Salary Range: Upper165,000.00Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
