Science Teacher (Middle and High School)

Job Summary:Southwood Jr/Sr High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated MS/HS science teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will foster curiosity, promote scientific thinking, and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction across life, physical, and earth sciences. We are looking for an educator who values relationships, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Essential Responsibilities:Design and implement science lessons that align with Indiana state standards.Establish a supportive and engaging classroom environment that encourages inquiry and student participation.Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.Use a variety of assessment tools to monitor student progress and inform instruction.Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to enhance instructional practices and school culture.Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress.Participate in professional development, school meetings, and extracurricular opportunities as appropriate.Qualifications:Valid Indiana teaching license with 5-9 or 5-12 science endorsementBachelor's degree in education, science, or related fieldStrong classroom management, communication, and organizational skillsCommitment to fostering a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environmentDays: 183 contract daysSalary: This position is part of the bargaining unitBenefits: Health, dental, life insurance; LTD; matching annuity; sick and personal days
