Engineering Manager - Power Electronics

Overview In this role you will lead the electrical and PCB engineering efforts to develop high-power, high-density motor drives and power electronics. You will shape technical direction, guide circuit design and EMI/EMC strategies, and work closely with mechanical engineering to deliver robust hardware. You will oversee bring-up, debugging, and customer escalations, ensuring performance and reliability at scale. This role offers impact by guiding cross-functional teams to realize advanced power electronics solutions that enable high-performance servo drives. ResponsibilitiesLead and develop the electrical engineering team and coordinate with mechanical engineeringSet technical direction for power electronics architecture and hardware platformsDesign and review power stages, gate drives, sensing, protection, and analog front-end circuitsGuide analog control loop design, filtering, and stability analysisDrive EMI/EMC strategies, grounding, shielding, and high-power PCB layout practicesOversee auxiliary and bias supply design, thermal analysis, and deratingLead design reviews, risk assessments, sustaining engineering, and trade studiesSupport bring-up, debug, failure analysis, and customer escalations Key requirementsBS/MS in Electrical Engineering10+ years in power electronics design (motor drives or power conversion)Expertise in analog control loops, mixed-signal hardware, and HV/HC systemsHands-on design of switching and linear power supplies and magneticsProficiency with SPICE and MATLAB/Simulink or MathcadStrong knowledge of high-power, low-EMI PCB layoutStrong foundation in power electronics, controls, electromagnetics, or thermal designleadership and people managementcross-functional collaborationclear communicationpower electronics designanalog control loopsmixed-signal hardware
