Their role is essential to our achievements, as they work closely with customers to understand their agronomic needs and recommend effective, high-quality products that support stronger performance, greater productivity, and improved returns. Our sales professionals are responsible for identifying and cultivating new opportunities in Deerpoint Group's foliar, continuous fertigation, grower applied blends, and water treatment products. Their work helps drive the company's growth and extends our reach into additional markets.Candidates must live in, or be willing to relocate to, the designated sales territory.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Sales GrowthEstablish annual sales goals with managementIdentify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities through cold calls, networking, and researchBuild and maintain an effective sales pipeline while providing accurate information to managementProvide growers with customized and innovative fertilizer and water-treatment solutionsDevelop and maintain strong relationships with customers, prospects, and coworkersContinuously learn and apply crop-specific farming practicesSupport sales strategies in underdeveloped markets and regionsAttend and promote products at trade shows and conferencesWork independently with minimal supervisionUphold high ethical and professional standards in all interactionsCollaborate with peers and managementComplete special assignments as neededEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent is requiredBachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, Business Management, or related field preferredThree years of agronomy focused sales experience in California agriculture is requiredFive or more years of agronomy focused sales experience in California agriculture is preferredCertified Crop Advisor License is preferredWorking knowledge of fertilizer formulating is preferredSkills & CompetenciesExcellent written and verbal communicationStrong organizational and prioritization skillsProficiency with Microsoft OfficeAbility to independently manage a territoryData analysis and reporting abilityStrong customer service and problem-solving skillsPhysical & Work Environment RequirementsAbility to walk, bend, kneel, and lift 10-25 lbs regularly; up to 50 lbs occasionallyAbility to sit and drive for extended periodsWork in both indoor and outdoor agricultural environments, including varying weather and exposure to chemicals and machinery
