Lead Validation Engineer
About The RoleThe Robotics Operation and Integration team is a part of the SoftServe Robotics Group and specializes in developing and smoothly integrating robotic systems on edge devices as well as in the сloud. We are looking for a Lead Robotics Validation Engineer to define, design, and execute comprehensive validation frameworks for advanced robotic systems that span hardware, software, and cloud integration. You will lead the end-to-end testing and validation lifecycle — ensuring performance, reliability, and safety across robotic platforms such as mobile robots, robotic arms, and drones.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop solutions for diverse robotic platforms (humanoids, mobile robots, robotic arms, drones)Build and validate rapid prototypes as well as production-ready robotics solutionsTest robotics systems both in simulation and real-world environmentsIntegrate robots with cloud servicesDesign automated robotic systems to increase efficiency, precision, and reliability in industrial applicationsResearch and experiment with the latest trends in navigation, sensing, decision-making, and modern robotic mechanismsCollaborate across hardware, software, and cloud teams to define system validation metrics and improve product reliabilityRequirementsA degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related fieldKnowledge of robotics principles, control systems, and algorithmsExperience in software testing and QA methodologies for embedded and robotic systemsProgramming expertise in C++, Python, and ROS / ROS2Skill in robotics simulation tools (IsaacSim, Gazebo, Webots, or equivalent)Knowledge of SLAM, localization, mapping, path planning, and sensor fusion (LiDAR, IMU, Visual, Odometry, Radar, GPS, etc)A mindset of being detail-oriented, analytical, and problem-solvingBackground of collaborating across hardware, software, and cloud domainsExperience with hardware validation tools (oscilloscopes, logic analysers, etc.)Familiarity with HIL/SIL testing frameworks and cloud-based robotics management systemsUnderstanding of containerized and distributed simulation (Docker, Kubernetes)Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI)Working knowledge of data visualization and analytics tools (Grafana, PlotJuggler, or custom dashboards)SoftServe is an equal opportunity employer.
