Our team is engaged in multiple cutting-edge development programs for defense applications. A strong candidate will possess a solid knowledge base in software development and design best practices.In this role, you will be responsible for:· Providing engineering support on both current and next generation technologies in support of our family of uncrewed ground and air productso Our products are entire systems ranging from the vehicle platforms to their control stations· Participating in software development of new products across all phases of the product lifecycle from concept development to lab and offsite integration and evaluationo Requirements, design, implementation, review, testing, and documentation· Integrating internal and third-party software solutions into our products· Collaborating with the software engineering team and other engineering disciplines to create functional systems· Supporting onsite & offsite integration and test supportGrowth Opportunities include:· Technical leadership· Individual Contributor (SME)QualificationsQualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering or related field required with 2+ years of experience or master's degree in computer science or computer engineering or related field in addition to the following skills/experience:· Required:o C/C++ programming experienceo Experience using Unix based operating systemso Basic shell scripting experienceo Knowledgeable of Object-Oriented Analysis (OOA)/Object-Oriented Design (OOD)o Experience using configuration management tools such as Git or Mercurialo Traveling up to 15% of the timeo Eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance· Preferred:o Experience integrating or designing autonomous solutions for land and/or air platforms§ Experience with MicroPilot's autopilot software§ Experience with MOOS DB/IvPo Experience with Qt projects/librarieso Experience with OpenDDSo Experience with containerization platforms such as Dockero Experience with Network/Serial/CAN interface developmento Experience frontend technologies including (but not limited to) CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, REST API, databases (SQL or NoSQL), and web UI designo Experience with automation build servers such as Jenkinso Experience with workflow management tools such as Jirao Experience with static code analysis tools such as Coverityo Experience developing MCP Servers and MCP Tools for use with LMMso Experience with AI software development and workflow toolsHow We CareAt Textron Systems, our talented people make us successful.
